QA-001 — Selected role resets after inline validation failure

Prerequisites
- Open the positive-control build.
- Start from the reset state.

Steps to reproduce
1. Confirm the workspace role is Admin.
2. Enter alex@ as the work email.
3. Submit the invite.
4. Inspect the role after the validation error appears.

Expected
- Submission is blocked.
- The email error is shown.
- The selected role remains Admin.

Actual
- Submission is blocked and the email error is shown.
- The role silently resets to Viewer.

Risk
A user can correct the email and submit an invite with lower privileges than intended. Silent state changes reduce trust and create avoidable permission-support work.

Regression
- Run WEB-007 against the fixed reference build.
- Recheck valid Admin and Editor invites.
- Recheck missing-name and invalid-email paths.
- Recheck idempotent double submission.

Result
- Positive control: WEB-007 FAIL.
- Fixed reference: WEB-007 PASS.

Limit
This defect is intentionally injected in a self-directed portfolio exercise. It is not client work or an external product finding.
